EMI Industries Adds Robotics in its Domestic Manufacturing to Improve Throughput and Cost Efficiencies

Tampa, FL:  As it continues to invest in state-of-the-art equipment and technologies, EMI Industries recently added robotic welding to its domestic manufacturing line at EMI’s Florida facility. Robotic welding greatly increases throughput and cost efficiencies on certain items EMI produces in large quantities.

“Robotic welding has a proven ROI and will help EMI overcome expected labor shortages, help with increased demands for faster production and a need for more manufacturing capacity.” said Alan Harvill, EMI’s CEO, when asked about the investment. “At EMI, we are continually focused on being over-prepared to meet our clients’ future needs.” he said.

“We have invested in flexibility to weld aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel.  Dual station, multi-axis positioning allows EMI to fabricate just about anything from simple components to complex assemblies.” said Sean Morris, EMI’s Florida Division General Manager.  “We’re investing in our people with training engineers, management, and operators, which also assures engrained technical ability and ensures production capabilities and uptime.”

For the first project, EMI will produce over 9,000 aluminum carts for one of the largest supermarket chains in the Southeast.  To date, EMI has delivered 100% on-time and complete.
