EMI Announces Marlo Manufacturing Acquisition


Move to bolster Northeast Food Service reach Tampa, July 1, 2011: EMI Industries, LLC announced today that it has acquired Marlo Manufacturing a 40 year old leading manufacturer of high quality custom stainless steel products for the food service industry located in Boonton, New Jersey. Marlo Manufacturing will function as a division.

EMI currently has a strong presence in the Northeast with a facility in Cranston, Rhode Island. “This acquisition supports our long term strategic plan for growth, and ultimately supports our objective to bring a competitive advantage to our customers. Marlo has an outstanding reputation for quality and performance. This reputation is directly attributable to their employees. They are a tremendous asset. EMI Sets Sights for Texas

Company expands to serve Midwest and Southwest Markets

Tampa, May 4, 2011: EMI Industries announced today that it will open a manufacturing facility and sales office in Arlington, Texas.

“This new facility will compliment EMI’s growth strategy by serving our customers in a geographic proximity to their current business base. For our customers east of the Mississippi, this expansion gives EMI broader purchasing power and increases our capabilities. It’s a win for everyone.” boasts Alan Harvill, CEO of EMI Industries.

The 66,000 sq ft millwork and architectural woodworking facility will house state of the art CAD/CAM and CNC equipment. Additional capabilities include staining, painting and custom moulding. This new facility will serve EMI’s core food retailers and the general retailing environments. Leading the efforts in Arlington, will be retail industry veteran, L. Keith Grant, as Vice President/General Manager.

EMI Announces Addition of Industry Veteran

Tampa, May 10, 2011: EMI today announced the hiring of L. Keith Grant as General Manager of the new facility in Arlington, Texas. This location is part of EMI’s expansion plan to the Midwest and Southwest.

Keith was the former President of MEI, (Merchandising Equipment, Inc, Atlanta) best known for his fixture and merchandising solutions for the build and rollout work of large retailers and designer shops, such as Saks, Inc., Macy’s, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Clinique.

“Keith is a pioneer in the industry. His 30 plus years of experience incorporates project management, engineering, sales and operational management skills. That blend of experience lends itself to great leadership and a solid knowledge base of the strengths EMI brings to the table for retailers. We look to his breadth of relationships and his hard work ethic to help EMI continue the move west," said Alan Harvill, Chief Executive Officer of EMI Industries.

EMI Industries announces 2 newly certified LEED AP’s

Alpharetta, GA and Cranston, RI, July 8, 2009 - Sean Morris of EMI's Alpharetta, GA location and Bill Johnson of its Cranston, RI facility each earned their LEED AP certification from the U.S. Green Building Council last month.  These gentlemen join previously-certified VP of Operations John Blattel, of the Tampa Bay, FL facilities, to earn this designation.  EMI now boasts LEED AP's on site at all its manufacturing facilities.

As the number of LEED projects within the Grocery, Convenience and Food Service Industries grows, so has EMI's commitment to meet their customers changing needs, according to EMI President and CEO Alan Harvill.  "Now, when a client is designing a LEED certified project, our accredited professionals can design and manufacture the interior fixtures to help earn that certification.  It offers tremendous value and expertise," says Harvill.
