EMI Industries once again "Best of Tampa

WASHINGTON D.C., June 8, 2009 -- EMI Industries has been selected for the 2009 Best of Tampa Award in the Food Products Machinery category by the U.S. Commerce Association (USCA).

The USCA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USCA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.

"EMI is extremely pleased to be recognized by this national organization," said Marny Bowman, Marketing Specialist for EMI.  "We have long been known to produce only the best quality products in the Food Retailing and Food Service Industries.  This important acknowledgment validates our many years of hard work."

Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2009 USCA Award Program focused on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USCA and data provided by third parties.

EMI Industries announces 2 newly certified LEED AP’s

Alpharetta, GA and Cranston, RI, July 8, 2009 - Sean Morris of EMI's Alpharetta, GA location and Bill Johnson of its Cranston, RI facility each earned their LEED AP certification from the U.S. Green Building Council last month.  These gentlemen join previously-certified VP of Operations John Blattel, of the Tampa Bay, FL facilities, to earn this designation.  EMI now boasts LEED AP's on site at all its manufacturing facilities.

As the number of LEED projects within the Grocery, Convenience and Food Service Industries grows, so has EMI's commitment to meet their customers changing needs, according to EMI President and CEO Alan Harvill.  "Now, when a client is designing a LEED certified project, our accredited professionals can design and manufacture the interior fixtures to help earn that certification.  It offers tremendous value and expertise," says Harvill.

"I am immensely proud of their achievement," Harvill continues.  "Through the leadership demonstrated by employees such as these, EMI is at the forefront of our industry in sustainable building practices, and this is just the latest example.  I know of very few companies in our industry who even have LEED AP's on staff, let alone at every manufacturing location like we do."

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Professional Accreditation recognizes professionals who have acquired a thorough understanding of green building practices, principles and the LEED Rating System, and have demonstrated the ability to successfully steward the LEED certification process for Green building projects.
